You won’t have to worry about it chipping or retaining scratches. Quartz as a stone is even harder and heavier than granite and is arguably the most durable stone for kitchen countertops. Also, a quartz countertop resists heat; you can put a hot plate on it, and when you take it away, the countertop won’t be hot. Or you can use pads or trivets with hot pots & use a cutting board.
