Quartz countertop referred to as engineered stone. The slab is created by combining roughly 90 percent ground natural quartz with about 10 percent polyresin. The resin polymers make quartz very strong and very difficult to break. Thus, no matter what amount of pressure you put on this material, it will not easily crack or chip.

Depending on the manufacturing of the quartz, the material might have a glassy or metallic-flecked appearance if produced using coarsely ground quartz, while a smoother appearance will emerge when the quartz is finely ground. Being manufactured, it can come in a wider range of colors and designs when compared to natural stones, which are somewhat limited in appearance, like granite.
Alternatively, quartz is non-porous and stain-resistant; it can easily be cleaned with warm water and soap and never needs sealing. If there is something resilient and sticky on the countertop you can use a little more soap without doing damage to the countertop. Use hot pads and don’t expose your counters to high heat. Even though the quartz surface is heat resistant, but excessive heat can cause thermal shock, which leads to cracks.
