Quartz will never achieve the same appearance as an organic material, but it has become better at mimicking some natural stone surfaces. Quartz countertops are virtually maintenance free. They do not require sealing and do not need any special cleansers. Because they are unlikely to etch or stain, you don’t need to stay super vigilant about the surface the way that you would with a marble countertop. Quartz countertop is scratch and stain-resistant and non-porous, therefore not needing to be sealed regularly like granite countertops. It also cannot attract mould, mildew and bacteria. Highly alkaline or acidic cleaners are the ones to avoid. Instead, just use soap and lukewarm water and your countertops will be perfectly clean.
Quartz countertops are only heat and scorch resistant up to a certain point. A sudden change in countertop temperature or sustained heat from a hot pot or pan can crack the surface. To stay on the safe side, be sure to always use a hot pad.
